What it treats
Letybo® (letibotulinumtoxinA-wlbg) is a botulinum toxin type A, FDA-approved in 2024 for temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe glabellar lines — the vertical “11” lines that form between your eyebrows when you frown.
Like other neurotoxins, it works by relaxing the muscles.
Interested in the forehead, the eyes, or elsewhere? Those are worth a conversation — book a consultation and we will talk through your options.
Letybo or Botox?
They are the same category of treatment — both purified botulinum toxin type A, both relaxing the muscle that creates a wrinkle. The differences are worth knowing:
- Maker and track record. Letybo is made by Hugel and has been the most-used toxin in South Korea for years; it reached the US in 2024. Botox has the longer history here.
- Price. As a newer arrival, Letybo often comes in at a lower cost per treatment.
- Dosing is not interchangeable. Letybo’s units are specific to Letybo — they do not convert one-to-one to Botox units. Your provider doses for the product in the syringe.
Neither is “better.” The right choice depends on your goals, your history, and your budget.
What to expect
- Consultation. We assess facial anatomy and muscle movements. After assessment, we can decide if Letybo is the right choice for you.
- Treatment. A few small injections will be made with a fine needle. Most people describe a brief pinch. You are in and out and back to your day.
- Results. Muscle movement begins to soften in 2–3 days and settles over about two weeks. Result can last 3–4 months, depending on health, metabolism, and other factors.
- Mild redness, swelling, or a small bruise can occur.

Preparing and recovering
Before your appointment
- Avoid blood thinners and supplements that thin blood — aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, turmeric — for 5–7 days, unless your doctor prescribed them.
- No alcohol for 24 hours beforehand.
- No chemical peels, lasers, or microneedling for 7 days beforehand.
- Hydrate, and eat something before you come.
- Arrive with clean skin — no makeup on the treatment area.
- Please reschedule if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, unwell, or have a rash, infection, or inflammation between the brows.
After your appointment
- Stay upright for at least 4 hours.
- Gentle frowning and brow movement in the first hour is fine.
- Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated area for 24 hours.
- No strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, or excessive heat for 24 hours.
- No alcohol for 24 hours.
- Mild redness, swelling, or a small bruise can happen and settles quickly.
Letybo® is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe glabellar (frown) lines in adults. Results vary with anatomy, age, and lifestyle, and no result is guaranteed. Treatment is performed by a trained medical provider. Possible side effects include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site, and rarely a temporary drooping of the eyelid or brow.
