Benign lesions only
This is a cosmetic procedure for lesions that are clearly benign. Every area is evaluated before treatment. If anything about a growth looks irregular or suspicious, we do not treat it — you will be referred to a dermatologist first. That is not a formality. A skin tag and an early skin cancer can look similar to an untrained eye, and removing one without a diagnosis destroys the evidence.
What it treats
The Plasma Pen generates a small electrical arc that vaporises the tissue of the skin tag. Nothing is cut, so there is less trauma to the skin around it and less risk of scarring.
Suitable for benign skin tags, seborrheic keratosis, and small benign lesions on the neck, underarms, face, chest, and back. Other areas are assessed case by case.
Whether a treated tag comes back is patient dependent. New ones can still form, since friction, genetics, and hormones are what cause them in the first place.
What to expect
- Evaluation. We examine the lesion to confirm it is benign and safe to treat. Anything questionable goes to a dermatologist before we touch it.
- Treatment. The area is cleansed and numbed with a topical anaesthetic. The Plasma Pen removes the tag with controlled energy. Most appointments take thirty to sixty minutes.
- Healing. Mild redness or swelling for 1–3 days. A small scab forms and falls off on its own within 7–10 days. Do not pick it.
